Perspective Series, Book 1

When I read the roommate wanted ad, I thought my sister was encouraging me to live with an insane person. As it turns out, he isn’t insane, he’s sexy and one hundred percent my type. Living with him will be the ultimate test of my self control.

When the combination of our love of music and my overwhelming need to take care of him meets jealousy, sparks fly. His heart may be damaged, but nothing is beyond repair.

Now all I have to do is convince him that I’m in this for the long haul, not just this moment.

I may look like the happy-go-lucky gay guy with a big smile and more punny tees than one person should probably own. But it’s just a shield to protect my heart, the one that has been torn apart by the people who were meant to love me most. The last thing I’m willing to do is risk the tattered shreds on my new - straight- roommate. Sure, he’s sexy as sin and has a love of music that rivals my own, but all that is just grounds for a new friendship. Nothing more. Right?

Yet, every moment we spend together tests a little bit more of my self control. When it turns out my roommate is not as straight as I once thought, I have to decide if this is one playlist I should listen to.

Will we have our own love song, or will this just be another broken-hearted ballad?

The B-Side is a low-angst, roommates-to-lovers, MM Romance novel. Featuring punny t-shirts for every occasion, killer playlists, meddling family and friends, and a happily-ever-after.

Special Release Excerpt:

My hand is on the door handle, so I turn towards his voice. Only Tyler is standing much closer than I expected. He’s in my personal space, with only inches between us, an uncertain but determined look on his face.

I gulp. “Yeah?” That came out softer and raspier than I expected.

Tyler reaches out and grabs my wrist gently, pulling my hand off the door to turn me towards him. Then, he just stares up into my eyes from beneath his lashes, his eyes speaking so loudly it’s as if he’s screaming at me. He’s not saying anything, but my body is responding to his unspoken words the way lyrics intersect and wrap around a melody.

He sways towards me a little more and whispers, “I’m glad you said yes.”

Fuck it. This is either going to go up in a ball of flames and burn down to ashes or be one of the best moments of my life. My hand cups the back of Tyler’s neck and brings him closer to me and our mouths fuse together.

Tyler’s lips are soft and hesitant. Probably from the shock of me initiating the first move. Let’s be honest; we’re both surprised over that. But after a few seconds of gentle coaxing, Tyler lets out an almost imperceptible whimper and goes from a passive to an active participant.

He parts his mouth, and I dive in to caress his tongue with my own. Tyler releases my wrist and wraps his arms around my shoulders, trying to pull me closer. Our bodies are closely connected, and I can feel every inch of him against me.

Our kiss is fierce but gentle, dancing tongues and slight nips at each other's lips. With my other hand on Tyler’s lower back, I push his hips towards mine, aligning our fronts together. I can feel his erection pressing into me through my jeans, and my dick is painfully hard trying to find its own escape.

I pull my head back just slightly to take a breath. Rather than separate from him fully, I press a kiss to the side of his mouth. We’re both breathing hard, and I've never been more turned on in my life. I move my lips down his cheek towards his jawline.

Can the three men, who have lost so much, find what they’re looking for at The Base?

An MMM Mafia romance

Cover designed by CJ Bishop

Drake didn't let Everett finish the sentence. Going next to the man's chair, he lifted him to his feet, cupped his face with one hand, caressing the silky curls with the other. Then, sweetly, softly, delicately, Drake brushed his lips over Everett's, his turquoise eyes incandescent from love and desire. The kiss, tender as it was, unleashed a storm of passion that swiped everything in its way, leaving the two men breathless.

They stayed like that for a while, staring in each other's eyes, amazed to see a part of their own soul reflected there. A soft sigh escaped from Everett's lips, and he put his head on Drake's chest, inhaling the refreshing, calming scent of the man's cologne. Finn was right, the three of them were pieces in the great puzzle of love, completing each other in the best way.

“Wow, that was...I don't even have words to describe it. Magical? Intense? Unexpected?” Everett's voice was quiet and shy, and the other man's heart melted at the sound of it.

“That was just a sample of what you'll get once you get back. Finn and I will be waiting for you, and then we'll start to plan our life together.”

“Um...I'm ready when you are.” Riley appeared from his bedroom, a small backpack in his hand. “And congratulations, you guys, I'm happy for you. This house has really thin walls, you know,” the kid mumbled when Drake cast him an amused look. “Well, I guess I have to talk to the boss about my living situation. I don't want to be in your way, now that you are officially together.”

“You’re not going anywhere, kid, not as long as I have a say in the matter. You belong here with me, Drake and Finn, part of our less typical but loving family. We want you in our life, do you want us in yours?” An encouraging smile was playing on Everett's lips as he waited for the boy's answer.

Blog Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway + Review ~ After Felix by Lily Morton

After Felix by Lily Morton

Close Proximity, Book 3

Sometimes the best love stories come in two parts.

When Felix met handsome journalist Max Travers, it was lust at first sight. It was just his luck that he then had to develop a terrible case of feelings and got his heart broken. However, two and a half years later, he’s over all of that. His job is going well, he has good friends, and he doesn’t lack for male company. Which, of course, is when Max has to come bursting back into his life.

Felix Jackson will always be the one who got away to Max. He’s spent their time apart regretting his actions and hoping for a second chance. When an accident lands him in Felix’s less than tender care, Max is determined to grab this opportunity. The only problem is that Felix is equally determined that he doesn’t.

From bestselling author, Lily Morton comes a story of missed opportunities, second chances, and two very stubborn men. This is the third book in the Close Proximity series, but it can be read as a standalone.

“How old do you think I am?” he says mock flirtatiously, leaning in close enough that I catch his scent of sandalwood. It brings back memories of rolling all over those soft sheets in that hotel room. I’ve been perturbed to find my mind straying to memories of that room a few more times than it should have over the last week.

He’s watching me intently again, and I swallow hard and tap my teeth thoughtfully. “I think probably sixty.” He opens his mouth in mock horror, and I laugh. “Only because you’re so wise,” I say reverently. “Being intelligent really piles the years on.”

He shakes his head. “I’m thirty-seven,” he says, trying not to laugh. “Can you see my crow’s feet?”

“A crow never made those lines. That’s surely got to be a bigger bird.” I wink at him as he laughs loudly. I eye the table where a book is sitting next to his pint. “What are you reading?”

He looks slightly awkward. “Ruth Rendell.”

“Oh, Inspector Wexford. My grandma used to watch those on the telly,” I say cheerfully.

“Thank you so much for that information,” he says darkly. “It’s made my day so happy.”

I laugh. “It’s like I carry sunshine wherever I go.” I eye him. “So, do you like reading crime novels?”

“I do.” He smiles. “I’ve always thought it would be incredibly easy to murder someone and get away with it, so I like it that people get found out in these books.”

I blink. “Said no man ever who hoped to get laid.”

He laughs. “I’m not going to murder you, Felix. Your arse is far too perky for that to happen.”

“I always knew my buttocks could save a life.”

He bites his lip, laughter brewing in those dark eyes as he leans forward. “The only way I’ll kill you is when you die from an overdose of the pleasure that my cock gives you.”

After draining my drink, I put the bottle on the table and stand up to grab my coat. “Pride goes before a fall, Max,” I say. “Maybe we’d better get you back to the hotel before you break something.”

My review:

"Let's pick our own pedigree names," I say impulsively, turning to him. I think hard while swigging my wine. "I know. I shall be Mrs Flimflam Sloppy Blowjob, and you can be Euripides Nice Hair Rimming the Third."

I LOVED this book so much. It was romantic, sweet, funny and full with snark. The perfect combination and not a surprise from Lily Morton. Loved the characters, their story and background too, and my favorite thing is still that you can meet Lily's other characters in various amount in the books. If you're reading the books in order, there aren't any surprises from other characters and their connections, but since I'm reading them not in order... but yeah, I'm still enjoying it really much. Love meeting other characters then can't wait to read their story later. But back to Felix. As I said I just L-O-V-E-D this book from page one to the last. I couldn't find one thing to dislike even if I wanted to, it was just perfect in every way.

Felix and Max's first meet was hilarious and loved how they relationship evolved. Felix was super cute and strong character, he is a person you want to be friends with and only wish him the best in life. I wanted the same for Felix, just the best - and the best in this case was Max. Aww. These two! And how blind they were to their feelings - thanks to Max and Ivo's history. I loved that Ivo and Henry's wedding took place in this book, and it was really good to see Max and Ivo together and finally see that Max figuring out everything in his past and how to live in the future - especially with who! My favorite part was when Max and Felix met with Ivo and Henry in Venice. I really wanted Felix to be okay with Ivo, so I really loved that scene.

The romace and erotica was really, really good. Super hot and sweet, Felix and Max together just scorching hot. Their relationship was really good to read about, from one night stand to friends with benefits, and to lovers♥

And the cover, just OMG - perfect Felix! Loved this book so much. Highly recommend it!

Interwiew with Leigh Kenzie, author of Il Padrone

AUTHOR NAME: Leigh Kenzie

Introduce yourself and your writing

I’m a dark romance M/M author who is way too addicted to coffee and deals with naughty plot monkeys frequently. In my real life I manage chaos in both my job and family. You’ll also find plenty of kink in my books and since I believe light is found only through darkness, it’s not an easy journey for my characters.

Tell us about your new release. What inspired you to write it?

Il Padrone is book 1 of the Vendetta Series. I wanted to write a dark M/M mafia story. I only intended for it to be one book but it ended up becoming a whole series. It just grew until there wasn’t any other option. As for inspiration, I was wanting some dark M/M mafia and a friend suggested writing one. I sent a very rough idea to one of my alphas and was encouraged to write it. I wrote a (very) rough scene and my other alpha insisted I continue. After that it was just following the characters. My hope is that I’ve created a story and series that will provide an escape for readers.

How did you decide on the title?

This is a fun question. Since this is mafia based, I have both the Italian and Irish factions. Allesandro is the head of the Italian Family. When I was writing it, it just felt right that the title be in Italian as well. Allesandro’s title is Il Padrone (Master). I have a very dear friend who lives in Italy and she has helped me with every title of the Vendetta series. She’s also helped me with any Italian in the books themselves.

Did you learn anything from writing your book? What was it?

I learned so much! Some of it was research-based like naughty toys ;) Part of it has been grammar rules. Since I’m not a classically trained writer I have grown throughout the series on my writing ability. I’m sure that will continue. Most of all though I learned a great deal about myself. Writing is intensely personal. I’ve always admired how authors could put themselves out there. To put your heart and soul out there is terrifying! Yet, I learned I’m able to do it. I credit the amazing people in my life and their support for helping me with that. The journey has certainly been an interesting one.

Do you have any genres you prefer reading, and if so what are they?

I read both M/M and M/F and while I often prefer dark reads I devour pretty much everything. I would say M/M is my preference overall though I have certain M/F authors that will always be autoclicks for me.

Are any of your characters based on you or people you know?

I believe I draw certain facets from real life. My characters aren’t fully based on people I know but there may be parts of people in my characters. Emilio is probably the closest based on me.

Do characters and stories just pop into your head, or do you take your time thinking about and planning them?

Characters pop into my head regularly! Sometimes they even introduce themselves with a line or two that fits perfectly in the story, even if it changes the entire plot. It’s very rare that I actually plan out my characters. However, when they pop in my head I do take time to really think them through and find out more about them.

Are you a panster or a plotter?

Complete panster. I’d love to be the type to outline and know where I’m going but that doesn’t happen. If anything I’ll get an idea for a certain scene and know I have to get there but otherwise I go where I’m told by the plot monkeys and characters in my head. They frequently surprise me.

Do you write often? Do you have a schedule?

Due to my chaotic life, I don’t necessarily have a schedule. I try to write Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. It doesn’t always happen but that’s always my goal. I set word counts for myself instead of hours and have two wonderful alphas who encourage me on it when I’m actually able to have a writing day. It makes a huge difference for me.

Are you a cat person or a dog person? Tell us about your pets.

I love all animals. We currently have two Jack Russell Terriers. I call them terrors of terriers because they get into all sorts of trouble! They both are very high-energy troublemakers. They have destroyed a few pairs of eyeglasses, shoes, furniture, even their dog beds! However, I don’t know what I’d do without them and love them completely. They own us—we just pay the bills. For Christmas our dining room is covered in toys for them. To be fair, they destroy toys quickly. Our family also will go so far as having a birthday party for them (they’re brothers). It will be complete with a doggie bakery cupcake and since one of the “grandmas” lives in a different state she insists on a video call each year to watch them open their gifts and cause more chaos.

Are there big events in your life that affect your writing?

I believe life, in general, affects my writing. The joy of writing dark romance for me is that when I’m stressed out I have a whole world to play in to help with it. As a primary caretaker for a family member, I’m able to use writing to address my fears and worries. It’s a stress reliever. I lost two people in my life who meant the world to me growing up. That acted as a catalyst for me to actually go through and publish. They had spent years encouraging me and it’s easy to push things aside out of fear. Losing them made me realize I should try and that gave me the ability to follow through on this series.

Thank you!

Audio Tour + Excerpt & Giveaway ~ Gideon by Lily Morton & Joel Leslie

Audio Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway:

Gideon by Lily Morton

Narrated by Joel Leslie

A Finding Home Novel, Book 3

Gideon Ramsay is so far in the closet he should be a talking faun.

A talented, mercurial, and often selfish man, Gideon has everything he should want in life. Fame, money, acting awards – he has it all. Everything but honesty. At the advice of his agent, Gideon has concealed his sexuality for years. But it’s starting to get harder to hide, and his increasingly wild behaviour is threatening to destroy his career.

Then he’s laid low by a serious illness and into his life comes Eli Jones. Eli is everything that Gideon can’t understand. He’s sunny tempered, friendly, and optimistic. Even worse, he’s unaffected by grumpiness and sarcasm, which forms ninety percent of Gideon’s body weight. And now Gideon is trapped with him without any recourse to the drugs and alcohol that have previously eased his way through awkward situations.

However, as Gideon gets to know the other man, he finds himself wildly attracted to his lazy smiles and warm, scruffy charm that seem to fill a hole inside Gideon that’s been empty for a long time. Will he give in to this incomprehensible attraction when it could mean the end of everything that he’s worked for?

From the bestselling author of the Mixed Messages series comes a story about a man who needs to realise that being true to yourself is really just a form of finding home.

This is the third book in the Finding Home series but it can be read as a standalone.

I come awake slowly, becoming aware of beeping sounds and the low hum of voices. At first I wonder whether I’ve died, but when I inhale I smell the scent of antiseptic and relax. I’m fairly sure heaven won’t smell of Dettol. I stir, trying to open my eyes, and someone’s hand comes down on mine, the skin so hot it makes me aware of how cold I am and that my teeth are chattering.
“So c-cold,” I mutter.
“It’s okay,” the voice says. “You’re alright, Gid. I’m here.”
I want to smile because that halting but warm voice belongs to my baby brother, Milo, but sleep beckons me again and I fall into its welcoming arms.
The next time I wake up it’s easier. My eyes flutter open and I wince against the brightness of the light. “Fuck,” I mutter, and a low chuckle sounds from somewhere near me.
“I see your vocabulary hasn’t been improved by your brush with death.”
Niall!” Milo sounds horrified. “What the hell?”
My best friend and old hook-up chuckles. “Relax. I’ve read that people who have near-death experiences come out of it changed. I thought maybe his intellect would have improved and he’d be using fancy words.”
I shake my head and force my eyes open again. “Oh, my God! That bloody light is burning my retinas. Close the fucking blinds.” My voice sounds thick and unused.
Niall laughs. “No, don’t worry. His intellect is still at base level, as is his temper. Yes sir, I’ll get right on it for your majesty.”
There’s movement and then the room dims welcomingly.
I open my eyes fully to look at my companions and immediately frown. Milo looks worn at the edges, his clothes rumpled and his hair messy, while Niall has huge circles under his eyes. I notice Niall’s hand on my brother’s arm and want to roll my eyes. Since they got together and declared their love it’s been like being on the set of a romance by Barbara Cartland.
“You both look fucking awful,” I say hoarsely.
Niall laughs. “Oh my God, you came back with compassion. It’s like Simon Cowell has morphed into Mother Theresa.”
“I certainly didn’t come back with any patience for your shitty sense of humour.”
