Soulmates across time. Two hearts that were meant to be together.
In present day, Zach takes a road trip to Trinidad to find information on a missing friend.
In 1892, Layton Blue, outlaw, longs for hearth and home even as he treasures his life of freedom.
A freak rainstorm washes Zach's car into a ditch, sending him back to the year 1892. Searching for help, alone and on foot in the middle of the nowhere, he crosses paths with the famous Ketchum Gang. Now the gang’s prisoner, Zach’s fate is to be sold at a seedy auction for whores.
Layton is put in charge of making sure Zach does not escape, but as the chemistry between them grows, Layton finds himself wanting to help Zach.
Can Layton overcome years of being on the run? Can Zach accept help from an outlaw?
My review:
"Wishes did come true, after all."
Yes! Wishes did come true, because i wished for a book with time travel!
I got this ARC copy from the author to read and review it, and here comes my honest review about Wild as the West Texas Wind. But first of all, thank you for reaching out and for the opportunity to read this book.
This book was my very first cowboy themed read and i really liked it. I am not that person who is into the whole Texas/cowboy/horses thing, but hey i'm not living in America ;) But i am not that person either who says no for a book just because it is out of her comfort zone!
The story was really slow, like reeeealllyyyy slow, the first kiss was at 60-70% but i'm not complaining. It was good as it was. The love between Layton and Zach was beautiful and i loved reading about their slow relationship. Layton was a really unique character, i loved him from the beginning and i just wanted to give him everything!
And Tam! God! That horse was faboulous! I loved reading about Tam and the connection between Tam and Layton.
The time travel thing was not the main theme, i mean that it was on only when it happened at the beginning and at the end when they sorted everything out- but i loved the explanation of the time traveling.
I haven't read the other books in the series, but i figured it out that the second book was about Laurie and John, and i really want to know their story too! Laurie is a cutie and i want to know who he had found love.
The cowboy/outlaw scenes was really good, i was feeling like i was with them, especially when Layton played on his harmonica, awww♥ I loved every scene with Layton, and i loved how he changed. Layton and Zach's days together was the best ever, and my heart ached for them.
I liked reading this book, and i am happy that i didn't say no to read it. I am happy that i found a new author and more books to add to my TBR.
It was a lovely and beautiful read, i recommend it! And can't wait to read the first and second books in the series too!
